  • We defended a prominent satellite and aerospace company in an action by an Indian telecom company alleging breach of the joint venture agreement and seeking $100 million in damages.
  • We defended the operating subsidiary of a satellite and aerospace company in an action by a supplier of satellite components, obtaining favorable settlements.
  • We represented an Israeli-based manufacturer of equipment for the aircraft industry in connection with miscellaneous contract claims.
  • We represented the selling 50 percent partner in a large medical services company providing Social Security disability, industrial medical and other examination services to government bodies.
  • We defended a work-out firm in an action brought by lenders to Burger King franchisees against claims that the work-out firm tortiously interfered with loan agreements by advising franchisees to default on loans as part of restructuring their debt to the franchisor.
  • We represented an investment banker in defense of a New York Supreme Court action asserting post-divorce claims of breach of contract by a former spouse.
  • We represented a photographer in the assertion of copyright claims for wrongful reproduction of her work.
  • We represented a high-tech medical start-up company developing a new scanning device for detection of early-stage breast cancer and its chairman in defense of claims of securities fraud in a multi-plaintiff action, in the accompanying SEC investigation and in a state court action against the directors and officers liability carrier.
  • We represented the market leader in the manufacture of industrial products in connection with the allocation of financial responsibility for trailing environmental liabilities following the purchase and sale of a Michigan industrial manufacturing plant.
  • We represented a vendor of concert-quality violins in connection with a violin theft claim and miscellaneous other matters.
  • We defended family members against claims of fraud arising out of a family partnership dispute involving control over a nine-figure asset.
  • We represented a vendor to a major international retailer in connection with disputes arising out of certain high-profile catastrophic events in a major garment-producing country in Asia.
  • We represented a company providing analytical and information processing services to a major Wall Street firm in connection with termination of a multi-year contractual relationship.
  • We prosecuted claims in a UNCITRAL arbitration to recover damages under a satellite services lease.
  • We represented a privately held securities trading firm in defense of a state court action arising out of a former employee’s wrongdoing in persuading employees of vendors met at a construction site to invest in a nonexistent employee-only trading fund.
  • We have served as general counsel to a distributor of man-made filament yarns to the U.S. textile industry. Duties included effectuating introduction and passage of miscellaneous tariff legislation in the U.S. Congress as well as handling its litigation matters.
  • We represented the owners, directors and officers of a champagne producer in a shareholder derivative action by a notorious corporate raider.
  • We represented a hedge fund principal in an action against a tax accountant for malpractice in connection with late filings.
  • We prosecuted a claim on behalf of a client against its two partners in a major real estate investment that they had shirked certain capital contribution obligations under their partnership agreement.
